the story behind the donut
it started with her donut pan.
The rest is a story worth tasting.

who is bowie?
She loved donuts more than just about anything.
Bowie was more than just a grandmother. She was the kind of person who made everyone feel welcome the second they walked through the door. Her house always had an open-door policy, and that back door was constantly swinging open from grandkids coming and going. No plans, no invitation, we just showed up because we loved spending time there, and she loved having us.
She had the biggest sweet tooth of anyone I've ever known, aside from myself, so it's safe to say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. There was always some kind of sweet treat in her house, but donuts were always at the top of her list. After she passed, I found her old donut pan while cleaning out her home and decided to try making donuts that same night. Little did I know, it would end up inspiring a whole brand.
the original
The first one I ever made is still on the menu.
The first donut I ever made was the Vanilla. I had no idea what I was doing, yet somehow it just worked. That recipe has never changed and it's still on the menu today.
I named the business after her because I didn't want her name to be said less. Naming something centered around her favorite treat after her just felt right. And now every time someone says "Bowie's," she gets to live on a little. That part I love.

meet taylor
Food, fitness, and a lifelong sweet tooth.
Food and fitness have always been a big part of my life. I've been a fitness instructor for over 10 years, but I've had a sweet tooth my entire life. Bringing those two passions together felt natural: I've always been curious about how food impacts the way you feel and move, and I wanted to find a way to enjoy the sweeter side of life without compromising on how I fuel my body.
During COVID, I started sharing recipes through a food blog: snacks, breakfast, dinner, dessert. It was the first time I really put my baking out into the world, and I realized people were actually interested in what I was making. That's when baking became something more than just a hobby.
I believe food is meant to be shared and enjoyed. With Bowie's, I get to share something that feels comforting, tastes delicious, and actually fuels your body too.

Every flavor earns its place on the menu
Meet the taste testers
Nothing makes it onto the menu without passing the most important quality check first. Each new flavor goes through a full round of testing before it ever reaches you, and the panel doesn't go easy.
My professional taste testers? My twin nephews, who are four years old and have absolutely no interest in being polite about something they don't like. Alongside them: my dad, my brother, and my boyfriend. Because if a four-year-old and a grown man will happily eat a healthy donut and ask for another one, that's when you know it's actually good.

the philosophy
"You don't have to choose between food that fuels you and food that makes you happy."
Bowie's Donuts are made with nutrient-dense, real ingredients and sweetened only with pure maple syrup. They're gluten free and made without additives or refined white sugar, just simple, real ingredients you can feel good about.
The sweeter side of life, made the right way.
